Who is eligible? Employees of participating employers and their household members are eligible to receive services. |
Who will know that I contacted the EAP? All interactions are completely private and confidential. In accordance with state and federal laws, information about you or your personal concerns will not be released without your permission. All records are secure and are subject to the same protections as medical records. |
Will I be charged for using the EAP? Your employer prepays all costs for EAP services, so your consultation with an EAP professional is completely free. If you are given referrals for additional services or resources beyond the EAP services, your medical plan may cover part of the cost. Your EAP Consultant can help you evaluate your options based on your unique personal situation. |
What do I do if my supervisor referred me? Sometimes your supervisor will recommend that you consider calling the EAP. In this informal referral, he or she is expressing concern for you based upon the information you have shared. Whether you call or not is up to you. No information is shared with anyone without your written consent. Sometimes it is helpful for the EAP consultant to speak with your supervisor in order to help you, but such conversations will only take place with your permission. |
 |
| Some companies adopt an EAP policy which makes provisions for a formal referral in cases of job performance problems. If your supervisor made a formal referral, he or she has contacted us and informed a consultant about your job performance issues. To comply with your supervisor’s instructions, you must get in touch with us to make an appointment within the deadline that he or she set. The consultant will let your supervisor know if you have made and kept the initial appointment, but will not reveal any personal information or specific recommendations that are shared during consultation. No job action can be taken based upon your compliance with a formal EAP referral. Call us at 1-800-332-7998 to set up an appointment. |
 |
What happens when I call a counselor? We’ll start by asking you some general questions about your problem to help us determine the best way to help you. We may be able to offer help during your initial phone call by providing referrals and information. If further assistance is needed, the EAP consultant will talk to you about telephonic and face-to-face consultation options. If you would like in-person support, Resource Management Consultants will arrange an appointment with a counselor located near your home or office. |
What credentials do the counselors have? All initial calls are handled by a counselor with a master’s degree in a counseling field. Subsequent telephone or face-to-face consultations are also with master degree professionals with advanced clinical training in specialized fields. We will match you with the right counselor for your concerns. |
What kind of online help is available? Depending upon services selected by your employer, you may have online access to work/life, legal & financial, and/or mental health services. Using RMC Connect, our online support network, you can immediately access helpful articles, self-assessments and calculators; search for providers and resources in your area; or request personalized referrals or information from trained consultants. Contact your human resources department or call Resource Management Consultants at 1-800-332-7998 to find out if your EAP includes online support. |
